Country guides for 41 countries: the 39 in the OCRE 2024 catalogue, plus Georgia and Israel, whose NRENs are listed as OCRE cloud contacts. Between them they name 32,476 research and education institutions.
Certifications and compliance
Ten certifications between Exoscale and VSHN, with the revision and the scope, so a data-protection office can check them without asking. Where a standard is held per zone, the zones are named.

What "held by" means. A certification held by Exoscale is attested for the Exoscale platform your workloads run on, and VSHN supplies that attestation as part of a procurement pack. For BSI C5 that means Exoscale's C5 Testat covers the infrastructure layer, while VSHN's own ISO 27001 certification and ISAE 3402 Type II report cover the operations layer on top. VSHN holds no separate C5 attestation and has not needed one: this combination has met C5 requirements in German public-sector procurement.

Exoscale cloud services
The infrastructure you procure through OCRE, run by Exoscale in the zone you choose. All of it carries the framework discount on compute and storage, and free traffic to GÉANT and connected NRENs.
VSHN managed services, delivered through Servala
These are operated by VSHN through Servala, the open-source app store for managed services, and they are a different product from Exoscale DBaaS above. Exoscale runs its database engines on its own price list and SLA; VSHN runs everything below with 24/7 support, automated backups, managed updates, and SLAs up to 99.99%, and the same catalogue runs on Cloudscale, SWITCH, and on-premises. Several databases are available both ways, so ask us which fits: Exoscale DBaaS is usually cheaper, and Servala adds operations and support around it.
Databases and messaging
Also available as Exoscale DBaaS, where Exoscale operates them directly and uses its own product names: Exoscale's in-memory engine is Valkey, the VSHN-operated one is Redis.
Developer tooling
No Exoscale equivalent. VSHN operates these on Exoscale infrastructure.
Platforms
Container platforms. Exoscale SKS is the self-managed alternative.
